Bob is Managing Principal of the firm. Along with his management responsibilities, he maintains an active search practice focused on high level in house counsel search for corporate clients as well as partner level search for law firm clients. He also routinely counsels and works closely with small and mid-sized commercial law firms seeking appropriate merger opportunities with larger firms.
In his over 20 years in the legal search business, Bob has handled retained Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel searches for a wide variety of companies in the Mid-Atlantic region, from venture-backed emerging growth companies, to large, publicly-traded Fortune 500 companies. Industries served have included investment and financial services, life sciences, technology, specialty chemicals and manufacturing, and healthcare, among others. Bob has been actively involved in the legal search and staffing industry since 1996, when he co-founded a recruiting firm that over time evolved into C|N. Since becoming a legal recruiter, Bob has actively participated in the National Association of Legal Search Consultants, the American Staffing Association and the Eastern Chapter of the Pennsylvania Staffing Association, in which he served as an initial founding member, and on the Board of Directors. He also has been an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and its Mid-Size Law Firm Management Committee.
Formerly, Bob practiced law as a corporate and securities attorney, first with a major New York City law firm, and then with Pepper Hamilton in Philadelphia. During his time as a practicing lawyer, he handled initial public offerings (from both the issuer and underwriter side), day-to-day securities law compliance, and general corporate transactional and governance work. Bob draws upon his legal practice experience on a daily basis while helping to frame positions with clients and evaluate prospective candidates.
Bob earned a business degree in management from the University of Scranton and went on to New York Law School, where he graduated with honors and served as Managing Editor of the New York Law School Law Review. He also was selected for the Dean’s Academic Scholarship and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Student Leadership.
