Senior Patent/IP Licensing Attorney/New Jersey: We have been retained by a growing public company located in central New Jersey to handle their search for an attorney with 7+ years of sophisticated patent licensing experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house. To be successful in this role, the lawyer should be a self-starter with a business-minded approach. Candidates must have substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex, high value patent licensing agreements, ideally based upon chemical technologies. The ability to negotiate the assertion of patent rights and defend patent claims will also be important. This lawyer will also personally handle and/or oversee work related to ongoing contract maintenance, including provision interpretation, drafting and responding to customer product stewardship requests on new product introductions and compliance related matters. Presenting superior communication and client skills, the lawyer will be expected to cultivate strong relationships with business development professionals and other managers and executives within the company. The lawyer, along with the rest of the team, will generally work in the office four days per week. The employer prefers not to provide relocation assistance. Periodic domestic and international travel is required.
